Anyone driving a car should know how to open the hood. It doesn’t matter if you are mechanically inclined or not. You should be able to open the hood and perform essential maintenance on your vehicle. For example, you will need to open the hood to check the oil, add any oil, add window washer fluid, etc. Below are the directions on how to open the hood of a Jeep Commander.
2006 – 2010 Models
- Pull the lever on the lower side of the door frame in front of the door.
- Walk to the front of the car.
- Slide your hand under the hood near the center.
- Push the safety latch to the left.
- Now you can lift the hood.
Note: To close the hood, do not slam it down. Lower the hood down and then press firmly down to engage both latches. If you slam the hood, you can cause damage to your vehicle.
