How to Reset Oil Change Required Light on the Dodge Avenger

Posted on April 30, 2019 by Mitch Bartlett 2 Comments

The Oil Change or Oil Change Required light will illuminate on the Dodge Avenger after 5,000 miles have been traveled. You can clear and reset the light with these steps.

  1. Turn the ignition to “On” where the electronics are on, but the engine is off.
  2. Gently press the gas pedal all the way down three times within a ten second interval.
  3. Turn the ignition to “Lock“.

The next time you start the Avenger, the Oil Change light should be off.

These steps should apply to 1994-2000 and 2007-2014 models of the Dodge Avenger.

Thanks a lot for this. This worked on my 2013 model.
