Mercedes-Benz Sprinter: How to Set Clock

Setting the clock in your Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is required after every battery change, and for some models, if you travel to a different time zone. Using the option which suits your vehicle below, you will find the uncomplicated steps to follow to set the time on the clock.

**NOTE: If you are unable to set the Time on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.

Option 1: Models Without Steering Wheel Controls

*The time is displayed within the Dash Screen so focus on this area only.

  1. Turn the key to the ON position without starting the ignition.
  2. Press the M button located to the LEFT of the Dash Panel, until the HOUR starts Flashing.
  3. Press the + or buttons located to the RIGHT of the Dash Panel to enter the HOUR.
  4. Press the O button (directly under the M button) until the MINUTES starts Flashing.
  5. Press the + or buttons to enter the MINUTES.
  6. Press the M button to complete the time set.

You are ALL SET!

Option 2: Models With Steering Wheel Controls

  1. Turn the key to the ON position without starting the ignition.
  2. Press the MENU button (the third one) located on the LEFT side of the steering wheel until you see the SETTINGS menu in the Dash Panel/Instrument Cluster.
  3. Press the UP arrow (The first button on the Left).
  4. Press the + or buttons located on the RIGHT side of the steering Wheel to scroll and highlight CLOCK/DATE.
  5. Press the UP arrow again and you will see SET CLOCK and HOURS.
  6. Press the + or buttons to enter the HOUR.
  7. Press the UP arrow to highlight MINUTES.
  8. Press the + or buttons to enter the MINUTES.
  9. Press the MENU button to SET the time you have entered.

You are Good to GO!

*TIP: For vehicles with digital navigation screens: Turning on the GPS TIME will allow the system to automatically adjust your time dependent on your present location. This feature will change your clock when you cross into a different time zone.

  1. None of these instructions help me. My 2020 Mercedes-Benz sprinter (Winnebago Vita) has controls on the steering wheel and I cannot get to the set clock/date function. When somehow I finally find it, it does not let me set it. It will go back to No Message screen, temperature of car screen, gas used, etc. Please help me. I took it to the Mercedes-Benz dealer in Mesa, Arizona and they didn’t know how. The mechanic set it, but when you turn off the battery as it is going to sit for at least a week, I cannot reset the clock. Please help. I’m disappointed with this Sprinter as the AC is not really good, apparently there is another drive I can get to to go up hills, but I have no clue how to do that, and I can’t find a Mercedes-Benz mechanic that will take the time to help me. (I’m thinking I made a HUGE mistake). Thank you.

    • I have the same problem. There were some serious design flaws also in the 2021 model. I’m sure Mercedes is already aware of it but we should expect that they will ignore the problem as long as possible. There are no instructions even in the owners manual, where one would expect to find “clock” listed in the index. But someone somewhere must have set the clock to mountain daylight time, where it remains.
