Resetting the Oil Change Light on the Mazda CX-5

The Mazda CX-5 will display a wrench on the instrument panel when an oil change is due. You can clear this notification after maintenance service has been performed using these steps.

2018-2021 Models

  1. Starting from the Home screen, select the “Applications” icon.
  2. Select “Vehicle Status Monitor“.
  3. Select “Maintenance“.
  4. Select “Oil Change“.
  5. Select “Reset“.

2012-2017 Models

  1. Turn the ignition completely off.
  2. Press and hold the small knob on the instrument panel.
  3. Continue holding the knob while turning the ignition to the “ON” position.
  4. Still continue to hold the knob for about 5 seconds until the warning light blinks.
  5. Release the knob, and the “Oil Change” light on the Mazda CX-5 should no longer be illuminated. You may need to retry these steps if it didn’t work for you.

That’s it! After performing these steps on the Maxda CX-5, the oil change reset light should now be cleared.

  1. On 2021 CX-5 there is no “Applications”. Tap “Information” instead.
Then “Vehicle Status Monitor“ then “Vehicle Maintenance Settings”
Then “Reset Service Interval” then “Reset”
