How to Reset Oil Light/Oil Life on the Jeep Wrangler

We show you how to reset the “Oil Change Required” indicator on the Jeep Wrangler with these steps.

All Models

  1. With the engine off, turn the ignition switch to “On” without starting the engine.
  2. Within a 10 second interval, push the accelerator pedal all the way down slowly three times within 10 seconds.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the “LOC” position.

Now when you start the vehicle, the “Oil Change Required” light should no longer be lit.


Newer Models with Instrument Cluster Display

  1. With the engine off, turn the ignition switch to “On” without starting the engine.
  2. Use the buttons on the steering wheel to select “OK“, then use the arrows to toggle the selection to “Vehicle Info“.
  3. Scroll to where the “Oil Life” is selected.
  4. Press and hold the “OK” button until the Oil Life is reset to 100%.
