Tesla Model S: How to Reset TPMS

If you replace the tires on the Tesla Model S, you will need to reset the TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) sensors. This guide shows you how.

2020 – 2023 Models

  1. Ensure your tires are inflated to the correct PSI.
  2. Turn the car on.
  3. Drive for more than 10 minutes over 15 mph; the sensors reset automatically.

2012 – 2019 Models

  1. Turn the car on.
  2. On the touch screen, go to Controls.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Service + Reset.
  5. Select Tire Pressure Monitor.
  6. Select Reset Sensors.
  7. Enter your wheel or tire size, and press Reset.
  8. Select OK.
  9. Use the scroll wheel and select Car Status. If the pressure reading is from the previous tires, leave the car stationary for at least 20 minutes.
  10. Drive your car faster than 25 mph for at least 20 minutes for the TPMS to fully reset.

I hope this post has helped you successfully reset the TPMS on the Tesla Model S. Let me know how it worked out for you in the comments section below.

  1. We have a 2021 model s and just installed new 19 ” winter tires…Originally the tires shop installed radio frequenr sensors…We returned and now have Tesla blue tooth tpms installed however the fault line remain on. It appears 3 out of 4 tire pressures are reading however one is not currently…The newer models are supposed to change over automatically however ours is not…Any suggestions?
