Toyota RAV4: Enable/Disable TRAC/VSC/Trailer Sway Control

Posted on August 26, 2019 by Mitch Bartlett 1 Comment

If your Toyota RAV4 is stuck in snow or mud, you may need to disable the TRAC/VSC/Trailer Sway Control systems so that all wheels spin at the same rate. You can turn off this system with these steps.

  • TRAC is Traction Control. It helps to maintain drive power and prevents certain wheels from spinning while driving on slick roads.
  • VSC is Vehicle Stability Control. It helps stabilize the vehicle when turning on slick roads.
  • Trailer Sway Control helps the driver control the vehicle better when a trailer is attached to the rear of the vehicle.
