Hyundai Santa Fe: How to Open Fuel Door

Posted on December 2, 2020 by Mitch Bartlett 2 Comments

The Hyundai Santa Fe has the lever to open the fuel door in a strange place where many owners and renters may not be able to find it.

Have a look on the inside of the driver’s side door. The latch will be toward the front bottom part of the arm rest on the door. Pull this latch toward you, and it will open the fuel door allowing you access to the gas cap.

FAQ

What can I do if the fuel door is stuck?

Try prying it open with a credit card. You may have to pull the latch while attempting to open the fuel door. This might require assistance from another person. What worked for me is, I crammed my credit card into the door, then was able to pull the latch by myself.
