How to Reset Stuck Sunroof on the Toyota Corolla & Camry

Sunroofs are probably the one basic mechanical item on a vehicle that commonly has problems. Sometimes they won’t close all the way. The sunroof on the Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry are no different. If you are experiencing problems where the sun roof is stuck, won’t open, or won’t close all the way, try resetting the sunroof with these steps.

Sunroof Closes Then Opens

  1. Stop the vehicle and place the gear in “P“.
  2. Press and hold the “CLOSE” button, then continue to hold it for about 10 seconds until the moonroof closes, reopens, then closes again.

  1. Stop the vehicle and place the gear in “P“.
  2. Press and hold the “UP” or “TILT” button (depending on your model), then continue to hold it for about 10 seconds until the the sunroof pauses, adjust itself, then close.

 

These steps should work with all sunroofs and moonroofs on all Toyota Corolla and Toyota Camry models.
