Nissan Altima: How to Set The Clock

Setting the clock in your Nissan Altima is required after every battery change, and for some models, if you travel to a different time zone. Following the instructions for the YEAR which suits your vehicle below, here are the uncomplicated steps to set the time on the clock.

2007-2012

  1. With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine. 
  2. Push IN and HOLD the CLOCK button.
  3. Use the SEEK button to enter the HOUR.
  4. Use the TUNE button to enter the MINUTES.
  5. Press the CLOCK button to SET the entered time.

2013-2018

  1. With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine. 
  2. Push IN the TUNE/MENU knob located on the right side of the console, until ADJUST CLOCK is on the screen.
  3. Turn the knob to highlight YES.
  4. Press the knob IN, then you will see CHANGE HOUR.
  5. Turn the knob to enter the HOUR then press the knob IN again.
  6. CHANGE MINUTES will be highlighted on the screen.
  7. Turn the knob to enter the MINUTES then press the knob IN one last time to SET.

2019 (Navigation Screen)

  1. With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine. 
  2. Touch SETTINGS then CLOCK.
  3. Touch OFFSET (HOUR) Use the + and – to Increase or Decrease the HOUR.
  4. Touch OFFSET (MINUTES) Use the + and – to Increase or Decrease the MINUTES. 
  5. Touch ON-SCREEN CLOCK to turn the clock display ON or OFF. This gives you the option to delete the clock from the screen completely. 
  6. Touch CLOCK FORMAT for either the 12h icon or for military time the 24h icon.
  7. Touch CLOCK MODE and choose Auto, Time Zone or Manual.
  8. Setting it to AUTO will allow the GPS system to automatically adjust your time dependent on your present location. This feature will also change your clock when you cross into a different time zone. 
  9. Touch DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME  to turn it ON or OFF.
  10. Touch TIME ZONE to select either Pacific, Mountain, Central, Eastern Atlantic or Newfoundland. For the one you choose, just touch ON when you want to override the systems time zone.

The correct time should now appear on your Home Screen of your Nissan Altima.

If you are unable to set the Time on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.

    2013 Nissan Altima – I set time on clock. There was an “ON” “OFF” setting. I somehow hit the “OFF” setting and now can’t see the time. How do I get it back “ON”?
