I recently rented a Range Rover SUV while on vacation. When I went to refuel at a gas station, I couldn’t locate the fuel release button or lever in the cab of the vehicle. Where oh where could it be?

Well, it turns out there is no button or lever to open the fuel door on the Range Rover. You simply follow these steps:
- Ensure the doors are unlocked.
- Exit the vehicle and locate the fuel door on the rear passenger side.
- Push the the fuel door in by putting pressure on the rear side of the door. It will spring open allowing access to the gas cap.
- Unscrew the gas cap and begin fueling your Range Rover’s gas tank.

- Turn off the car engine.
- Locate the fuel door switch to the left of the steering wheel. It is indicated by a gas pump. The owner’s manual refers to this as a “filler flap.”
- If you cannot find the filler flap, look at the gas gauge. An arrow will indicate which side the flap is on.
- Press the filler flap to open the fuel door.
- The filler flap will not function if the engine is on.
If your fuel door isn’t opening, you can open it using the emergency pull located in the trunk. Refer to your Owner’s Manual to find the exact location of the emergency pull.
