First thing you need to know is, there isn’t a fuel door release lever or button on the interior of the Jeep Compass, so stop looking. Just follow these steps.
2017 – 2023 Models
- Unlock all doors.
- Exit the vehicle and locate the gas door on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- Press the rear half of the fuel door. It will spring right open.
2007 – 2016 Models
- Insert finger under the raised lip on the fuel door.
- Pull the fuel door open.

Ohh i try filling it up and the pump would stop so i need to unlock all dorrs from my 2019 Jeep Compass latitude?
@Emmanuel – If the pump keeps stopping when you pump fuel, there might be a clog in the charcoal filter.
and how do you open it when it doesn’t “spring right open”?
