Volvo XC60: How to Connect a Phone

Establishing a hands-free connection between your mobile phone and your car allows you to conveniently listen to music, receive phone calls and messages, and connect to the internet. Your Volvo XC60 comes enabled with Bluetooth. In this article, we have outlined easy-to-follow steps to connect your car to your phone.

2018 – 2023 Models

  1. On your phone settings menu, go to Bluetooth and turn it on to make your phone visible for Bluetooth connections.
  2. On your car display, tap the phone icon, and select the add phone prompt.
  3. The car’s Bluetooth will scan for available devices. Once the scan is done, select your phone on the car display to establish a connection and click the Confirm” prompt.
  4.  On the car display, a message will ask you to confirm that the PIN key on the car display matches the one on your phone.
  5. Click confirm on your car and “Pair” on your phone. A message on the car display will confirm that the connection was successful.

2014 – 2017 Models

  1. Make sure your car is in park.
  2. On your screen display, press the TEL button once. The message no phone connected will appear on the car display with a prompt to “Select OK to connect.” Use the control knob to select OK.
  3. The prompt “Search for a new phone” will appear on the car display. Use the knob to select OK to scan for available devices.
  4. On your phone settings menu, tap BLUETOOTH to turn it on. Your phone will be on the list of available devices on the car screen. Use the knob to scroll down and select your phone.
  5. The prompt “Connect for phone” will appear; select OK using the knob.
  6. PIN code will display both on your car and phone; check and confirm whether they match. If they do, select OK to confirm on your car display and “Pair” on your phone.

2008 – 2013 Models

  1. Go to the settings menu on your mobile phone, select BLUETOOTH, and turn it on so that it’s discoverable by your car’s Bluetooth system.
  2. On your car display, press the phone button. The message on the display will read “No phone connected,” and a prompt “Enter to connect” will appear.
  3. Press the enter button to initiate a connection. You will then be prompted to add a phone.
  4. Press enter.
  5. Press enter once your phone’s name appears on the display.

  7.  Click on “Accept” to allow for the connection.
