Volkswagen Atlas: How to Perform Oil Reset

In this guide, we will show you how to reset the oil system on the Volkswagen Atlas SUV. Resetting the system will clear the “Oil change service in x mi” notification. Just follow these instructions.

2013 – 2020 Models

Models without Advanced Display

1. Locate the 0.0 button on the instrument panel above the steering wheel.
   
2. Press and hold the 0.0 button.
3. Continue to hold down the 0.0 button, and with the vehicle off and foot off the brake, press the Start button to turn on the electronics.
4. When the display says, “Reset oil change interval?” release the button.
5. Press and release the 0.0 button to reset the system. A message will appear that says, “The service interval was reset.”

Models with Advanced Display

1. With the vehicle off and your foot off the brake, press the Start button to turn on the electronics.
2. Use the ◀️ ▶️ to toggle to the “Range” option.
3. Press and hold the “OK” button on the steering wheel for about 4 seconds until the Service menu appears.
4. Use the 🔼 🔽 arrows to scroll to “Reset oil change service.“
5. Then press and release “OK.”
6. A message will appear that says, “The service interval was reset.”
7. Turn on the engine, and the oil reset is finished.

1995 – 2019 Models

1. Ensure your ignition switch is turned ON.
2. Press and hold the 0.0 button on the instrument cluster.
3. While holding the 0.0 button, press the reset button (located in the center of the instrument cluster) for three seconds.
4. Release both buttons. The oil reset message will appear on the instrument cluster.
5. In about three seconds, press the 0.0 button until the oil reset message disappears.
6. Now turn OFF the ignition button of your car.
7. Turn on the engine, and the oil reset is complete.
