Sometimes the moon or sun roof on the Toyota RAV4 might malfunction and get stuck where it does not close properly. You can reset or initialize the moon roof to fix the problem using these steps.
- Turn the ignition into the “ON” position. Do not start the vehicle.
- Press and hold the “CLOSE” or “UP” button.
- Continue to hold the button. The moon roof should tilt upward, then downward, then open and close. Once it completes, release the button.
- Try to use the moon roof as you normally would to verify the reset was done properly.
You may need to try these steps a two or three times to get the results you desire. Hopefully, these steps did the trick and the sunroof of your RAV4 is reset successfully.
