Most people find it difficult to open the release/open fuel door because they might have problems locating the fuel door release button. Here are the steps that make the release/opening of the fuel doo even easier:
2019 – 2022 Models
There are two options to release/open the fuel door in a Toyota RAV4:
- Locate the fuel door release button. The release button has a fuel pump icon and is found underneath the steering wheel on the left.
- Pull or press the button.
- If you have the electrical release button, press it to open the fuel door.
- Pull the lever to open the fuel door if you have a mechanical option.
2012 – 2018 Models
- Locate the release button, which is found below the driver’s seat. The release button is a lever containing a gas symbol on it.
- Pull the lever to pop open the fuel door.
