Toyota Corolla: Reset Stereo System

Although you may need a code to reset your radio most of the time, a few tricks might give you a temporary fix as you get your code from your service provider. Here are some steps you can follow to reset different Toyota Corolla model years.

2020 – 2023 Models

With a Code

1. Turn the vehicle on to turn on the radio.
2. Press the power button on the radio.
3. Press and hold the number 1 button and the up 🔼 arrow on the left side of the radio simultaneously.
4. You will see four dashes appear on the display.
5. Input the stereo code using the corresponding preset buttons 1-6.
6. You will get three chances to put in your code properly, or you will lock the system. If it locks, you’ll need to visit the dealer for help.

Without a Code

1. Turn the vehicle on to turn on the radio.
2. If the screen says “CODE,” turn off the radio.
3. Press the Down 🔽 Button and the Power Button for 60 seconds.

It should bypass the stereo and gives you access to music and radio.

2014 – 2019 Models

1. Turn the vehicle on to turn on the radio.
2. Press the power button on the radio.
3. Wait 10 seconds, then turn your radio off.
4. Depress the radio power button again and wait for a reset.

If that doesn’t work, try the following:

1. Press and hold the Audio system power button for 3 seconds.
2. Then a menu will pop up and ask if you want to reboot the system. Follow the prompts to confirm.
