Tesla Model Y: Reset Stereo System

Is the stereo system in your Tesla Y giving you problems? Follow the steps below to get it up and running again.

2020 – 2022 Models

Soft Reset

1. Hold down both scroll buttons on your steering wheel at the same time.
2. Your touchscreen will go black.
3. Release the scroll buttons.
4. After a few seconds, the Tesla logo will appear on the touchscreen.
5. Wait for about 30 seconds then your touch screen will restart automatically.

Hard Reset

Note: Whether you are having problems or not, Tesla recommends that you perform a hard reset every month to refresh the car’s systems.

1. Open”Tesla Settings” on your touchscreen.
2. Press”Safety and Security.”
3. Click “Power Off.”
4. You will see a text box that asks you to confirm.
5. Click “Power Off.”
6. Your touchscreen will go blank. In fact, your whole car will be powered off.
7. Wait for around 1 minute.
8. Press the brake pedal.
9. Your touchscreen and car will re-activate.
