Connecting your Tesla to your phone allows you to access your music and make phone calls while driving. We will guide you on connecting your phone to your Tesla Model Y.
2017 – 2022
To pair your phone, ensure your Model Y and your phone are powered on.
- Open your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- Turn your Bluetooth on and make sure it is discoverable.
- Turn on the Bluetooth on your Tesla Model Y and ensure it is also discoverable.
- Select the option to “Add New Device” on your Tesla screen and start a Bluetooth device search.
- Select the phone that you want to connect with on the list generated on your touch screen.
- In a few seconds, your Tesla will display a randomly generated number on the Bluetooth settings touch screen, and your Tesla will display the same number on your phone screen. Ensure the number displayed matches before proceeding to confirm.
- Proceed to “Pair” the devices.
- Once the devices are paired, the Bluetooth settings screen displays the Bluetooth symbol next to the phone’s name to show an active connection.
Specify whether you want the Model Y to access personal information on your phone. Personal information includes your phone contacts, calendars, and media files on your phone.
