Subaru Outback: Add/Delete Contacts

Storing phone numbers in your Subaru Outback is a modern-day safety action as this allows one to communicate via calls, access call lists, and send text messages all hands-free, eliminating distractions whilst driving. Simply follow the uncomplicated steps below to help you set up this magnificent feature.

**NOTE: If you are unable to Add/Delete contacts, or Make/Accept a Hands-Free Call on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual. 

How To Add Contacts

*After your phone is connected to Bluetooth Successfully*

1. Press the PHONE OFF THE HOOK button (Shown in the image).
   • The system will speak the available commands. 
2. Press the TALK button and say PHONE BOOK.
   • Listen to the system it will tell you what to do and say.
3. Press the TALK button and say ADD ENTRY.
   • The system prompts you again.
4. Press the TALK button and say BY VOICE.
   • After the system guides you.
5. Press the TALK button and say the NUMBER you want to ADD.
   • The system will repeat the number and guide you again.
6. Press the TALK button and say CONFIRMED.
   • After the system prompts you to say a Name.
7. Press the TALK button and say the NAME you want to ADD.
   • The system will REPEAT the name and guide you further. 
8. Press the TALK button and say CONFIRMED.
   • The system will say STORED and guide you to set the speed dial for the number you just entered.
9. Press the TALK button and say SPEED DIAL or say CONFIRMED if you do not want to set the speed dial.
   • The system will say RETURNING TO THE PHONE BOOK  plus other directives.
10. Press the TALK button and say ADD ENTRY if you have more to add or CANCEL if you are done adding.
11. Press the PHONE ON THE HOOK button when finished.

How To Call The New Entry:

1. Press the PHONE OFF THE HOOK button.
   • The system will speak the available commands each time.
2. Press the TALK button and say DIAL BY NAME.
   • The system will tell you to press the Talk button and say the Stored Name.
3. Press the TALK button and say the name you previously stored.
   • The system will repeat the name and guide you.
4. Press the PHONE OFF THE HOOK button to call the number.
   • The system will say DIALING.
5. Press the PHONE ON THE HOOK button to END the call.

How To Answer A Call From The New Entry: 

*When someone calls you will see the Number pop up in the Navigation Screen*

1. Press the PHONE OFF THE HOOK button to ANSWER the call.
2. Press the PHONE ON THE HOOK button to END the call.

How To Delete Contacts- First Option:

1. Press the PHONE OFF THE HOOK button.
   • The system will speak the available commands.
2. Press the TALK button and say DELETE ENTRY.
3. Follow the system’s prompts to Remove an entry.

How To Delete Contacts- Second Option:

1. Touch HOME on the Navigation Screen.
2. Touch PHONE SETTINGS.
3. Touch CONTACTS and scroll to the number you wish to delete.
4. Touch DELETE.
5. Touch OK when the confirmation prompt pops up.
