Subaru Four Crosstrek: Reset Tire Pressure System

If the Tire Pressure Management System in the Subaru Four Crosstrek is not working properly, you may have to reset the system. Follow one of the Options below to re-initialize the TPMS.

The light indicator is a notification to warn you of significantly low air pressure or high-pressure loss in your tires and is NOT to be ignored, as low pressure affects the vehicles overall performance, such as: 

• How the vehicle drives. 
• Increases the need for fuel. 
• Tire failure. 

First, Check the Recommended Air Levels Needed: 

• Refer to the Manufacturer’s Sticker located on the inside of the Driver’s door.  
• Fill each tire to the recommended PSI/air pressure. 

2012 – 2023 Models​

Option 1

1. Turn the ignition to the “On” position without starting the engine.
2. Locate the TPMS reset button below the steering wheel near the driver’s side.
3. Press and hold the TPMS reset button for a few seconds until the TPMS indicator light starts blinking.
4. Continue holding the button until the TPMS indicator light stops flashing and remains steady.
5. Release the TPMS reset button.
6. Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes.
7. Drive the vehicle at a speed above 20 mph for at least 10 minutes to allow the TPMS system to calibrate and detect the tire pressures.

Option 2

1. With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine. 
2. Scroll the MENU with the UP or DOWN arrows until SET is highlighted.
3. PULL and HOLD the SET button located on the steering wheel in the center (see image). Until you see the MAINTENANCE Menu, then select it.
4. You will now see four options: Engine Oil, Oil Filter, Tires and Maintenance Schedule. Select TIRES.
5. Then press SET.
6. Drive for 20 minutes, and the light should go OFF. 

After the tires are inflated, the outdoor temperature affects how fast the air in the tires will adjust. Be patient and give the tires time to adjust. In addition, if the tire pressure warning light stays illuminated past a week, you will need to have your vehicle serviced as there could possibly be a sensor issue or a tire puncture.

NOTE: If you are unable to Reset the Tire Pressure Warning Light on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.
