Chevy Silverado: How to Set The Clock

Setting the time on the clock in your Chevy Silverado is required after every battery change, and for some models, if you travel to a different time zone. Please read through each Option or via an image to find the instructions suitable for your vehicle! Here are the uncomplicated steps to follow to set the time on the clock.

NOTE: If you are unable to set the Time on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.

OPTION 1

  1. Turn the key to the ON position. DO NOT start the ignition.
  2. Press the small buttons located right under the TUNE/DISPL knob to adjust the time. The HR button on the left is for the HOUR, and the MIN button on the right is for the MINUTES.

*When you have set the time you desire, YOU ARE GOOD TO GO!


OPTION 2

  1. Turn the key to the ON position. DO NOT start the ignition.
  2. Press the SET button located to the right, under the display.
  3. You can then use the SCAN/SEEK buttons to adjust the time. The left button is for the HOUR, and the right button is for the MINUTES.

*Once you have entered the time, YOU ARE ALL SET!


OPTION 3

  1. Turn the key to the ON position. DO NOT start the ignition.
  2. Press the POWER button.
  3. Press and HOLD the button with a CLOCK on it or access the clock via the MENU button.
  4. On the display, you will see HR, MIN, MM, DD, YYYY. Press the DASH buttons that are located right under each display to set the hour, minute, month, day, and year.

*When you have set the time you desire, press the button with a CLOCK on it again to finalize the time.


For Models with a Navigation Screen:

OPTION 4

  1. Turn the key to the ON position or press the START button. DO NOT start the ignition.
  2. Press the “HOME” button (The little house button located under the display screen).
  3. Touch SETTINGS.
  4. Touch TIME and DATE.
  5. Touch SET TIME.
  6. Touch the UP and DOWN ARROWS to adjust the Hour, Minutes, and the AM or PM to set day or night.
  7. Select the time format by selecting 12h or 24h.
  8. Touch the BACK ARROW in the top corner or touch the HOME button to finalize the time you have entered.

**The time should now appear on your home screen. If so, YOU ARE ALL SET!

TIP: For Chevy Silverado vehicles with digital navigation screens: Turning on the GPS TIME will allow the system to automatically adjust your time dependent on your present location. This feature will change your clock when you cross into a different time zone.
