1995 – 2023 Models
- Locate and pull the hood release lever on the driver’s side under the dashboard, near the footwell.
- Locate and push the safety latch to the left. This safety latch is located at the front of the hood, near the Nissan logo.
- Raise the hood.
- Fit the hood support rod into the provided slot.
Common Problems with Nissan Sentra Hoods

Broken or Stuck Hood Latch
