How to Reset Oil Change Light on the Nissan Murano

If you completed an oil change on your Nissan Murano and have to reset the oil life reminder notification, you can do this on your own using these steps.

2015 – 2023 Models

  1. Turn the ignition on, but do not start the engine.
  2. Use the “Right Arrow” button to toggle the highlighted item all the way to the Settings Gear on the right side. Press “OK.”
  3. Use the “Up” and “Down” arrow buttons (usually on the OK button) on the steering wheel to toggle the selection to “Maintenance.”
  4. Press the “OK” button on the steering wheel to go into the “Maintenance” menu.
  5. Use the “Up” and “Down” arrows to toggle the selection to “Oil and Filter.”
  6. Press the “OK” button on the steering wheel to go into the “Oil and Filter” menu.
  7. Use the “Up” and “Down” arrows to toggle the selection to “Reset.”
  8. Press the “OK” button to choose “Reset.”
  9. Use the “Down” arrow to highlight “Yes.”
  10. Press the “OK” button, and the “Oil and Filter” light will be reset.

2008 – 2014 Models

Models With Info Center Display

  1. Press the “Info” button.
  2. Use the down arrow button to toggle the selection to “Maintenance,” then press “Enter.”
  3. Use the arrow button to toggle the selection to the oil reminder (usually Reminder 1).
  4. Then press “Enter.”
  5. Highlight “Reset Distance,” then press “Enter.”

Models Without Info Center Display

  1. Turn the car on, do NOT start the engine.
  2. Press the top button (which has a square on it) on the side of the speedometer dash until you get to the Settings screen.
  3. Press the second button (which has a circle on it) to scroll over to Maintenance.
  4. Push the top button.
  5. Scroll down to Engine Oil.
  6. Press the top button.
  7. Scroll over to Reset.
  8. Press the top button.
  9. Press and hold the second button until the miles reset.

2003 – 2007 Models

  1. Turn the car on, do NOT start the engine.
  2. Press the Maintenance button.
  3. Use the joystick to navigate to Engine Oil.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Use the joystick to navigate to Reset.
  6. Press and hold Enter until the system resets. You can also press the Reset button above the Setting button.
