Nissan Murano: How to Connect a Phone

The Nissan Murano comes with Bluetooth capabilities that allow you to listen to music or make phone calls from your smartphone. Learn how to connect your phone and car below.

Before you connect your phone and car, ensure to do the following:

  1. Ensure the vehicle is stationary and in park.
  2. Turn the engine on.
  3. Turn the Bluetooth on your phone and make sure it’s discoverable.

2023 Models

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Press the Connections key (Bluetooth and WIFI icon.)
  3. Press Add New from the Bluetooth Tab. (The screen will display a dialogue box directing you to enable Bluetooth on your device.)
  4. After your phone is discovered, a code will display on your car screen.
  5. Ensure the code displayed on the car screen is the same as on your phone; press Pair.
  6. Enable notifications on your phone Bluetooth Menu.
  7. After the connection is complete, your phone will display on the screen.

2019 – 2022 Models

Note: The 2019 – 2022 models can connect up to 6 compatible devices.

  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Press the Connections key (Bluetooth and Wifi icon.)
  3. Press Add New (The screen will display a dialogue box waiting for the connection to complete.)
  4. After the connection is complete, your phone will display on the screen.

2018 Models

  1. Press Settings on the launch bar.
  2. Press Bluetooth.
  3. Press Connect Device. (It brings up a dialogue box saying if you are connecting a phone, select “Yes.” If you’re connecting an audio-only device, select “No.”)
  4. Press Yes to connect your phone. (Pressing “Yes” brings up another dialogue screen that prompts you to connect with “MY MURANO” unless you have already renamed it.)
  5. The connection begins, and a PIN is requested on your phone. Input 1234.
  6. The vehicle then displays a new screen confirming the PIN displayed on your phone. (Confirm on your Bluetooth device that the PIN displayed resembles your phone’s.)
  7. Tap Yes on your phone if the PINs match or cancel otherwise.

2015 – 2017 Models

  1. Press the Phone icon on the launch bar.
  2. Touch the Connect Phone option. (A dialogue box will display telling you it’s searching for your phone, giving you the name of the Bluetooth and the password to input on your phone.)
  3. Press Yes if the PIN displayed on your phone matches the one on the dialogue box.

2009 – 2014 Models

  1. Press Settings on the instruments panel.
  2. Select the Bluetooth option.
  3. Select Connect Bluetooth option. (A dialogue screen will appear asking if you are connecting an audio Bluetooth device.)
  4. Press “No” to continue connecting your phone. (Selecting “Yes” only connects the hands-free calling option of your phone.)
  5. Enter a PIN of your choice and input it when prompted by your phone.
  6. Wait for the connection to complete. (Once done, the screen will return to the Bluetooth Menu.)
  7. To use your connected phone, press the DISC-AUX button until Bluetooth displays on the screen.
