Nissan Maxima: How to Reset Stereo System

2016 – 2023 Models

1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.

3. Select “System” from the list of options.

5. Confirm the reset by selecting “Yes” or “OK.”
6. Wait for the stereo system to reset, which may take a few minutes.

2009 – 2015 Models

1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
2. Press and hold down the “Audio” button on the stereo system for several seconds until the current time is displayed on the screen.
3. Press the “Audio” button again to access the settings menu.
4. Use the tuning knob to select “System.”
5. Press the tuning knob to enter the System menu.
6. Use the tuning knob to select “Initialize.”
7. Press the tuning knob to confirm the initialization and reset the stereo system.
8. Wait for the stereo system to reset, which may take a few minutes.

2004 – 2008 Models

1. Turn off the stereo and remove the key from the ignition.
2. Press and hold the power button on the stereo for 10 seconds to drain any remaining power.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the car’s battery.
4. Wait for at least 10 minutes to allow any residual power to dissipate.
5. Reconnect the negative battery cable and turn the car’s ignition to the “on” position.
