2019-2022 Nissan Altima
You can access the trunk from either the driver’s side or passenger’s side of the rear seat using the following steps.
- Move to the Front Passenger Seat to the most Forward Position
- Open the Access Cover on the rear parcel shelf
- Insert a KEY or any other tool, such as a pen or screwdriver, into the slot.
- Slide the Recessed Lever
- Fold down the Passenger’s Side Seatback
If your battery is dead, you can access the trunk using a key or another tool like a pen or screwdriver.
2013-2018 Nissan Altima
Follow one of these steps to open your trunk:
- Push the Truck Opener request switch while carrying the Intelligent Key in your hands.
- Press the Trunk Release Button on the Intelligent Key.
- Push the Trunk Release Switch on the left side of the instrument panel
- Make sure you push the trunk lid securely when closing the trunk.
Your vehicle has a Trunk Release Cancel switch as a security feature inside the glove box. When the Trunk Release Cancel switch is Off, the truck cannot be opened by either the Smart Key or the Trunk Release switch.
2007-2012 Models
How to open the trunk of your car without the key.
- Find the Release Lever for the trunk on either the driver’s or passenger’s side.
- Pull the Release Lever, and the trunk will pop open.
Changes in the 2008-2013 Nissan Altima
There are two ways to open your trunk.
- Use the key fob
- Press the Button that says “Trunk,” and the trunk will open
Manual trunk release
- Locate the Manual Trunk Release inside the car, on the driver’s side.
- Pull the Lever, and the trunk will open
Use the emergency trunk release
- The Emergency Trunk Release is located outside the care, on the driver’s side
- Pull the Handle, and the trunk will open
2002-2006 Models
Follow the following steps to open the trunk of your car with a key
- Find the Release Lever for the trunk located inside the car on the driver’s or passenger’s side.
- Pull the Release Lever, and the trunk should pop open
