Nissan Altima: How to Connect Phone Via Bluetooth

Pairing your phone via Bluetooth in your Nissan Altima is a modern-day safety action as this allows one to communicate via calls, access call lists, send text messages and play selected music all hands-free, eliminating distractions whilst driving. Select the section which suits your vehicle below and follow the uncomplicated steps to help you set up this magnificent feature.

**NOTE: If your phone does not pair on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unable to pair your device, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.

2019 – 2023 Models

With Navigation Screen

  1. On your phone, go to SETTINGS.
  2. Select BLUETOOTH and turn it ON.  
  3. On your navigation screen, touch the PHONE.
  4. Touch CONNECT, then CONNECT DEVICE.
  5. Wait for My Car to pop up within your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
  6. When it pops up, tap it to PAIR your phone to the vehicle.
  7. A PIN number will be displayed on the screen.
  8. If the PIN on the screen and the PIN on your phone match. Touch PAIR, then YES to confirm. 

Without Navigation Screen

  1. On your phone, go to SETTINGS.
  2. Select BLUETOOTH and turn it ON.    
  3. Via the vehicle’s audio system. Press the Enter/Settings button. Bluetooth will be highlighted on the screen.
  4. Press the same ENTER button again to turn ON Bluetooth.
  5. Turn the Enter/Settings knob to the RIGHT to scroll to ADD PHONE, then press the knob.

  6. You will hear, “THE SYSTEM IS SEARCHING FOR YOUR PHONE,” and the screen will direct you to find My Car in your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
  7. When My Car pops up, tap it to pair your phone to the vehicle.
  8. You will then hear, “PLEASE CONFIRM THE PIN MATCHES USING THE HANDSET.” A PIN number will be displayed on the vehicle’s screen.
  9. If the PIN on the screen and the PIN on your phone match. Tap PAIR, then YES to confirm. 

2010 – 2018 Models

Option 1

  1. Press the Bluetooth button.
  2. Say “Add Phone.”
  3. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  4. Tap Bluetooth.
  5. Tap My Car.
  6. Verify that the PIN on the dash is the same as on your phone.
  7. Tap Pair on your phone.

Option 2

  1. Press the Settings button.
  2. The Bluetooth menu will be highlighted. Press Enter.
  3. Scroll down to Add Phone.
  4. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  5. Tap Bluetooth.
  6. Tap My Car.
  7. Verify that the PIN on the dash is the same as on your phone.
  8. Say “Yes” when prompted.
  9. Tap Pair on your phone.

Option 3

  1. Press the Bluetooth button.
  2. Say “Add Phone.”
  3. Open the Settings app on your phone.
  4. Tap Bluetooth.
  5. Tap My Car.
  6. When prompted, enter the code “1234.”
  7. When prompted, give a name for your phone.
