Mitsubishi Outlander: How to Connect a Phone

These days, making and receiving phone calls hands-free when driving is easy. All you have to do is connect your phone to your car. Follow the steps outlined in this article to connect your phone to a Mitsubishi Outlander.

2022-2023 Model

1. Turn your car on and put it in PARK mode.
2. On the touchscreen, touch the Home screen button, then the Connectivity icon.
3. A connectivity menu will appear; click on Add New. A message will pop up telling you to look for the car’s name on your phone. The car will be waiting for the phone to initiate pairing.
4. Go to Settings, then Bluetooth, and turn it on, along with the WiFi, on your phone.
5. It will start searching for new devices. After it’s done, you will see the name Mitsubishi Motors. Touch on it to Start pairing.
6. A PIN will pop up on the cars and phones screen. Please make sure they match and press PAIR on your phone.
7. Touch the ALLOW button on your phone to sync everything with your car.
8. Your car will ask you to allow car play. On your phone, click Use car play on the pop-up message.
9. A pop-up message on the car screen will appear asking you if you want to use car play. Touch YES, and you are now connected.

2018-2021 Model

1. Turn the Bluetooth of your phone on.
2. Turn on your car.
3. Touch the Home screen button and then the phone button.
4. You will see that no Bluetooth device has been connected. The car will ask you if you want to connect to a nearby device. Press YES.
5. The car will then ask if you want to pair a new device; press OK.
6. On your phone, you will see the name Mitsubishi Motors. Click on it.
7. A PIN will appear on the car and phone; if they match, click pair on your phone.
8. The car will ask you to sync your phone to your vehicle; click ALLOW on your phone. You are now connected.

2015- 2017 Model

1. Go to the Settings of your phone and turn on the Bluetooth.
2. On the screen of your car, press the Info button.
3. A drop-down menu will appear, and you will see ‘Mobile phone.’ Click on it.
4. On the screen, click the down arrow to go to another drop-down menu. Click on Pairing, and then Pair the device.
5. On your phone, click on ‘Hands-free system.’
6. Enter the PIN on the vehicle’s screen, and click Pair.
7. Click the Allow button on your phone to give the car access to your contacts.
8. You will see on the screen of the car that you are connected.
