2001 – 2007 Models
- To prevent injury, make sure the car is powered off and cooled down before you start maintenance.
- Locate the hood release lever near the lower part of the driver’s side door and to the left side of the steering wheel. In some model years, the lever has a printed image of a car with an open hood; in others, the lever is red.
- Pull on the lever until you hear the hood pop open.
- In front of the car, pull the safety catch towards you, and lift the hood.
- To close the hood, push down on the hood until it closes.
