Resetting the Oil Change Light on the Mazda CX-5

Posted on May 1, 2019 by Mitch Bartlett 8 Comments

After changing the oil in the Mazda CX-5, the “Oil Change” light may need to be reset. Use these steps to clear the notification light so that it will remind you to change the oil at the appropriate time.

  1. Turn the ignition completely off.
  2. Press and hold the small knob on the instrument panel.
  3. Continue holding the knob while turning the ignition to the “ON” position.
  4. Still continue to hold the knob for about 5 seconds until the warning light blinks.

Release the knob, and the “Oil Change” light on the Mazda CX-5 should no longer be illuminated. You may need to retry these steps if it didn’t work for you.

Did these steps help you? Let me know in the Comments section.

It would be nice to know which knob. Some indication where to look for it.

Directions don’t work. John is correct. You need to go to applications from home screen and reset or turn off there. I have 2019 CX5
