Mazda 3: Connect a Phone

The Mazda Connect system provides access to Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integrations. The Mazda 3 connect system can stream hands-free calls and music directly from your phone. However, you need to note that the steps for connecting Mazda 3 to your phone differ with different models. Follow the steps below to connect your phone to different models of Mazda 3.

2017 – 2022 Models

1. On your phone, locate your phone settings and turn on your Bluetooth.
2. Select the Bluetooth option from the settings menu on your Mazda Connect system.
3. Select Add new phone.
4. On your phone, select Mazda from available devices.
5. Your device will display a unique passcode on the Mazda screen.
6. Enter or confirm the code on your phone.
7. Select pair.
8. Your Mazda screen will indicate it is connected.

2014 – 2016 Models

1. Navigate through your car interface to locate the communication option.
2. Press the command switch to select the communication option.
3. Your Mazda 3 Connect screen will display the connect option to start the pairing process.
4. Press the command switch to display the Bluetooth options.
5. Scroll to Add New Device by turning the command switch right.
6. Alternatively, you can use the touchscreen controls to select Add New Device option.
7. On your phone, locate the Bluetooth option and enable the discovery or search mode.
8. Scan for nearby devices.
9. Select the Mazda option from the list displayed.
10. Verify the passcode on your phone screen and the Mazda 3 Connect screen.
11. Click pair to complete the pairing process.

2012 – 2013 Models

1. On your phone, locate the Bluetooth option and enable the discovery or search mode.
2. Press and release the talk or pick-up button.
3. The Mazda 3 Connect system will release a beep.
4. After the beep, say, “Set up.”
5. After the beep, say, “Pairing Options.”
6. After the next beep, once you have selected the pairing option, say “Pair” to start the pairing process.
7. Your Mazda 3 Connect screen will display a unique code – 0000.
8. On your phone, select Mazda to proceed with the pairing process.
9. Input the code displayed on your phone.
10. After the beep, say the name of the device you are connecting.
11. After the beep, say “Yes” to verify the added phone.
12. The pairing process is now complete.
