Resetting the clock in your Chevy Malibu is required after every battery change and often when traveling to a different time zone. Here are some uncomplicated options to follow to reset the clock.

2019 – 2023 Models
Option 1
- Turn the key to the ON position (DO NOT start the ignition).
- Located under the TUNE knob/dial OR next to the AUDIO button.
- PRESS and HOLD the HR button for about 2-3 seconds.
Depending on the model of your vehicle, you can either:
- Press and HOLD the HR button again to set the hour.
- When you reach the time you wish, release the button (Be mindful of the AM or PM).
- Press and HOLD the MN button to finalize the time you have set. RELEASE the button when you have set the right time.
or
- Use the UP and DOWN arrows to set the HOUR and MINUTE and then press the AUDIO button to finalize the time.
Option 2
- Turn the key to the ON position (DO NOT start the ignition).
- Located under the FAV button, press the button with a CLOCK or the word CLOCK on it.
- Next to the MENU button, press the buttons that correspond with the display’s hour and minute.
- Once you have adjusted the time, press the button with a CLOCK on it again to finalize the time you set.
2016 – 2018 Models
- Turn the key to the ON position (DO NOT start the ignition).
- Tap the HOME button to access the main screen.
- Select SETTINGS.
- Select TIME and DATE, then tap SET TIME (choose either 12h or 24h).
- Set the proper time by pressing the UP and DOWN buttons for the HOUR & MINUTE, as well as AM or PM.
- If there is no SAVE button, you can either tap the BACK ARROW in the top corner or tap the HOME button once you have entered the time.
2013 – 2015 Models
- Press Config.
- Scroll down to Time Settings.
- Select Set Time.
- Use the Tune knob to adjust the highlighted number.
- Press the knob to change from hours to minutes.
- Press the Back button.
OR
- Press Config.
- Scroll down to the Time screen.
- Press the Tune knob to enter the time menu.
- Press the + or – signs to change the time.
- Exit the menu when the time is correct.
2010 – 2012 Models
- Press the power button on the radio.
- Press the clock button to get the HR, MIN, MM, DD, and YYYY displays.
- Press the button under the item you want to change.
- Turn the knob to get the right time.
- Repeat this process until you have the correct time.
Or
- Press the Clock button. The clock symbol will appear on the screen, and the hour numbers will flash.
- Use the knob to adjust the hour until it is correct.
- Press the clock button again to move to the minutes.
- Use the knob to adjust the minutes.
2005 – 2009 Models
- Press the Clock button. The clock symbol will appear on the screen, and the hour numbers will flash.
- Use the knob to adjust the hour until it is correct.
- Press the clock button again to move to the minutes.
- Use the knob to adjust the minutes.
2001 – 2004 Models
- Press and hold the HR arrow for two seconds.
- Press the HR arrow until you get the correct time.
- Repeat the process with the MIN arrow.
1999 – 2000 Models
- Press and hold the HR button until the correct hour appears.
- Press and hold the MN button until the correct minute appears.
Or
- Press Set.
- Press and hold the right arrow on the Seek button until the correct minute appears.
- Press and hold the left arrow on the Seek button until the correct hour appears.
TIP: Turning on the GPS TIME will allow the system to automatically adjust your time dependent on your present location. This feature will change your clock when you cross into a different time zone.
NOTE: If you are unable to set the Time on the first try, repeat the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.

Is it possible to have the time set automatically when the time changes? Or when you drive into another time zone?
I used to have a 2015 Cruze where the time was set automatically. Just wondered if this was available on the 2020 Malibu as well?
