Jeep Renegade: How to Reset Oil Change Light Notification

Your car needs oil to keep things moving in your engine. Over time the oil gets old and needs replacing. When this happens, your car will turn on the Oil Change light. However, it doesn’t turn off when you finish changing the oil. You will need to reset the oil change light yourself.

Below are the steps to reset the oil change light in a Jeep Renegade. If you do not reset the notification light, it will stay on, and your oil change schedule will be thrown off. The best thing to do is reset the system at the end of an oil change.

2015 – 2023 Models

  1. Press the Start button to turn the car On. Do NOT start the engine.
  2. Press the gas pedal down fully 3x in 10 seconds.
  3. Press the Start button to turn off the car.

This light should not turn on for any other reason than notifying you to change your oil. If it comes on too soon, you may need to take your vehicle to a certified mechanic or dealership.
