It is possible that on several occasions, the stereo system of your Jeep Compass becomes blocked, and you cannot listen to the radio or play a CD. When this happens, you must reset the car audio of your Jeep Compass through a fairly simple and quick process consisting of the following steps we will explain below.
Contents
2018 – 2022 Models
These model years offer UCONNECT as part of the infotainment system.
Soft Reset
- Park your car with the engine in “RUN.”
- Locate the two knobs (volume and tuner knob) on the front of your stereo system.
- Press and hold both knobs for about 10-20 seconds.
- The stereo will shut down and then reboot itself. You can release the knobs once the screen goes black.
Note: This reset does not lose any settings.
Hard Reset
- Park your car with the engine in “RUN.”
- Locate the red and blue arrows used to change the driver’s temperature.
- Press both buttons at the same time for at least five seconds. This will bring up the UCONNECT engineering screen.
- Scroll through the menu and select the tab “Reset Factory Defaults.”
- Once you select the tab, it will take about 30 seconds for your system to reboot.
Note: This option will delete all content on your stereo system, including linked phones.
2011 – 2017 Models
- Park your car with the engine in “RUN.”
- Locate the two knobs (volume and tuner knob) on the front of your stereo system.
- Press and hold the knobs for at least ten seconds.

This is only a short fix on my 2022 Jeep Compass RED. After about 15 min. it fades to nothing again. A real pain as the hands free phone does not work if I can’t hear what the caller is saying.
