Jeep Cherokee: Reset Stereo System

Your vehicle’s radio is probably one of its most used features. It provides hours of entertainment as well as useful features such as navigation. If your stereo isn’t working, don’t worry; it probably just needs a reset. Below are easy steps based on your car’s year to reset your car’s stereo system.

2014 – 2022 Models

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “On” position and turn your radio on.
  2. Wait ten seconds, and then turn your radio off.
  3. Depress the radio power button again and wait for reset.

OR

  1. Push and hold the two knobs simultaneously for about 10 to 20 seconds until the radio power is off.
  2. Once the system shuts off, it will quickly turn back on and take about a minute or so to fully come back online.

OR

  1. Simultaneously press the voice command and both phone buttons (the ones on the steering wheel) for 30 Seconds, then Release.
  2. Open the driver-side door, leave it open for 30 seconds, then close the door.

2002 – 2013 Models

  1. Ensure your vehicle is parked and in “Run” mode.
  2. Press and hold down the volume and tuner knob buttons simultaneously for 10-20 seconds.
  3. After holding down the knobs, the screen should flash your vehicle’s brand name and go dark, completing the reset.
