  1. The 2019-2023 Cherokees do not have an emergency fuel filler door release cable.

    What I had to do was slide the body trim cover off of the filler door then twist the latch post counter-clockwise to release it from the door mechanism.

    To slide the cover to the rear (left), I used molding removal tools. About three inches from the rear edge, there is a tab locking the door in place. You need to slide a tool over it to depress it. (I found this out after I broke one of the tracks inside. This isn’t made to come off when the door is closed.)
