Hyundai Santa Fe: How To Open Trunk

You can use the trunk of your car for many purposes, but to use it to its full capacity, you need to know how to open it. Follow the steps below.

2001 – 2023 Models

Power Liftgate for Only 2022 and 2023 Models

1. In your “settings” on the digital dashboard, go to “setup” and then “vehicle,” scroll down to “Door” on the left side of the screen, then click the check box for “power liftgate” in the center of the screen.
2. With the car unlocked and the keys in your pocket or hand, stand near the back of your vehicle, and the trunk will open.

Note: Once you set up the power liftgate in your settings, you won’t need to do it again.

Trunk Button Inside the Car

1. On the driver’s side dash, press and hold the open trunk button to the left of the steering wheel.
2. Exit the vehicle, locate the liftgate handle, and pull it to open the trunk.

Trunk Button Inside Car or on Key Fob

1. Press and hold the unlock trunk button on the driver’s side dash to the left of the steering wheel or on the vehicle’s fob.
2. Exit the vehicle, locate the liftgate handle, and pull it to open the trunk.

Emergency Trunk Lever

1. Locate the plastic cap with an open trunk symbol from the back seat.
2. Remove the cap and pull the lever to open the trunk from the inside.
