Hyundai Accent: How to Open the Hood

If you’re new to the Hyundai Accent, opening and closing the hood can seem complicated. Fortunately, opening the hood of a Hyundai Accent only takes a few simple moves. Here’s a step-by-step guide on opening the hood of different Hyundai Accent models.

2018 – 2022 Models

1. Find the hood release lever on the driver’s side, close to the driver’s door edge.
2. Pull the release lever upwards.
3. The hood will open slightly.
4. Place your hand underneath the hood directly above the Hyundai logo.
5. Push the safety clutch to the left ◀️.
6. Raise the hood to open.

2000 – 2017 Models

1. Locate the hood release lever in your car’s cabin near the driver’s foot rest area.
2. Pull the lever upwards.
3. The hood will open slightly.
4. Locate the safety clutch underneath the hood, directly above the Hyundai logo.
5. Pull the safety clutch upwards.
6. Raise the hood to open.
