1998 – 2023 Models
- Check that the ABS light is indicating soft codes.
- With the car running, turn the ignition key to the “off” position.
- Go to the car’s hood and locate the negative battery terminal (usually marked with a “-” sign).
- Carefully disconnect the negative terminal for approximately five minutes. During this time, the system will discharge any residual power, and the soft codes will be cleared from the car’s computer memory.
- Reconnect the negative battery terminal and tighten it securely. You may hear the throttle body and other normal sounds as the system initializes.
- Once the negative battery terminal is reconnected, turn the ignition key to the “off” position.
- Start the car and observe the dashboard lights. The ABS light should have turned off.
