How to Replace Key Fob Battery in a Toyota Corolla

The key fob is the main star of your vehicle’s keyless entry system, and making sure it functions correctly is what keeps it convenient and secure. With these easy-to-follow steps, replace the key fob battery in your Toyota Corolla and start using your key fob again. 

2019 – 2023 Models

  1. Purchase a replacement CR1632 coin battery.
  2. Use the key to gently pry open the key fob case.
  3. Locate the release button on the back of the key fob. 
  4. Pull out the metal key to access the battery compartment. 
  5. Remove the old battery from the key fob.
  6. Insert the new battery into the key fob with the positive (+) side facing up.
  7. Close the key fob case and snap it back together.

2000 – 2018 Models

  1. Purchase a replacement CR2032 coin battery.
  2. Use s screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob case.
  3. Remove the case from the key fob.
  4. Insert the new battery into the key fob with the positive (+) side facing up.
  5. Close the key fob case and snap it back together
