2017 – 2023 Models
- Hold the Tesla Model 3 key fob and flip it over so you are looking at the bottom part.
- Examine the rear side of the key fob to find a small notch.
- Take a small flat-head screwdriver and carefully insert it into the notch.
- Gently pry open the bottom cover using the screwdriver until it comes off.
- After removing the bottom cover, you will now have access to the battery inside the key fob.
- To remove the old battery, use the screwdriver to lift the edge of the battery and take it out.
- Take the new CR2032 replacement battery with the plus side facing up.
- Put the bottom cover back onto the key fob and press it firmly until it snaps back into place.
Confirm that the battery replacement was successful by testing the key fob.
