2005 – 2023 Models
- Determine the type of battery you need. Most Chrysler 300 key fobs use a CR2032 coin battery.
- Locate the small button on the back of the key fob and press it to release the metal key.
- Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob case.
- Remove the old battery from the key fob.
- Insert the new battery into the key fob with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Close the key fob case and snap it back together.
1999 – 2004 Models
- You will need two CR2016 batteries for the key fob replacement.
- Hold the key fob firmly and locate the small slot on its side.
- Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot, then twist gently to open the key fob.
- Inside the key fob, you will find two batteries stacked on top of each other. The first battery can be easily removed by gently getting under it with your fingernail or a tool. Be cautious not to damage the metal component.
- For the second battery, gently push down on one side to make it pop up slightly, then lift it with your tool or fingernail.
- Take your new CR2016 batteries and place the first battery in its slot and press it down until it clicks into place. Then, put the second battery on top of the first one, also with the positive side facing up, and press it down until it clicks into place.
- Line up the two halves of the key fob and carefully snap them back together.
Lock and unlock your vehicle to test the key fob.
