2020 – 2023 Models
- Sit inside the driver’s seat with all doors, hood, and trunk closed.
- For models with a physical key, insert the working key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position (do not start the engine). For models with a push-button start, make sure you have the working key fob inside the car.
- For physical key models, insert and remove the working key from the ignition several times in a row. For push-button start models, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously on the working key fob for several seconds.
- Watch for specific indicators that confirm you’ve entered programming mode, such as the doors locking and unlocking automatically or a flashing light on the dashboard.
- Once in programming mode, press any button on the new key fob. You may need to do this for each key fob you want to program. The car should acknowledge the successful programming with a specific response, such as the doors locking and unlocking again.
- After programming all the key fobs, either turn the ignition off and remove the key (for physical key models) or press the “Engine Start/Stop” button without pressing the brake pedal (for push-button start models) to exit programming mode.
2015 – 2019 Models
- Sit inside the car with both the new and working key fobs and make sure all doors are closed.
- Insert the working key fob into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position without starting the engine. Keep it in this position for about five seconds and then turn it back to the “OFF” position and remove the key.
- Within five seconds of removing the working key fob, insert the new key fob into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position (do not start the engine). Keep it in this position for about five seconds.
- After five seconds, turn the new key fob back to the “OFF” position and remove it from the ignition.
- Repeat steps 3 to 4 for any additional key fobs you want to program (you can program up to four key fobs).
- Exit programming mode by opening the driver’s door or turning the ignition to the “ON” position.
2011 – 2014 Models
- Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
- Insert the already programmed key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position (do not start the engine). Wait for a few seconds until the indicator lights on the dashboard turn on, then turn the key back to the “OFF” position and remove it.
- Quickly insert the new key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Keep the key in this position for a few seconds, then turn it back to the “OFF” position. Repeat this step (ON-OFF) two more times for a total of three times. This needs to be done within a short period (around 10 seconds).
- If the programming is successful, you will hear a chime or see the hazard lights flash, indicating that the car has entered key programming mode.
- Within a few seconds of entering the programming mode, press any button on the new key fob to be programmed. This will sync the new key with the car’s system. Again, you should hear a chime or see the hazard lights flash, confirming successful programming.
- Turn the ignition to the “ON” position without starting the engine. This will take the car out of programming mode.
2006 – 2010 Models
- Ensure you are seated inside the driver’s seat with all doors closed.
- Insert your existing (already programmed) key into the ignition and turn it to the “ON” position. Do not start the engine. The “ON” position is usually one click before the engine starts.
- Press and release the “Lock” button on the existing key fob. Do this once.
- Turn the ignition off but don’t remove the key.
- Repeat Steps 3 to 5 for each additional key fob you want to program. Always start with the “ON” position, press and release the “Lock” button, and then turn the ignition off.

- Close and open the driver’s door three times.
- Turn the ignition switch from “Off” to “On” three more times.
- Close and open the driver’s door three times.
- The car should automatically lock and unlock, indicating it has entered programming mode.
