If the Tire Pressure Management System in the Honda Pilot is not working properly, you may have to reset the system. Follow one of the options below to re-initialize the TPMS.
The light indicator is a notification to warn you of significantly low air pressure or high-pressure loss in your tires. Low pressure affects the vehicles overall performance such as
- How the vehicle handles.
- Decrease in fuel mileage.
- Tire wear or failure.
Check the Recommended Air Levels Needed:Â
- Refer to the Manufacturer’s Sticker located on the inside of the Driver’s door. Â
- Fill each tire to the recommended PSI/air pressure.Â
Keep in mind, the outdoor temperature affects how fast the air in the tires will adjust to the proper temperature, this could take minutes to several days. Simply be patient and give the tires time to adjust. In addition, if the tire pressure warning light stays illuminated past a week, you will need to have your vehicle serviced as there could possibly be a sensor issue or a tire puncture.
NOTE: If you are unable to Reset the Tire Pressure Warning Light on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.
To Reset the Warning Light Perform one of the following Options below:

OPTION 1
 - With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine.Â
- Hold the TPMS reset button for 3 seconds. DONE!
The Warning light in the dashboard should be OFF.
OPTION 2
 - With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine.Â
- Via your digital screen touch or press SETTINGS.
- Use the knob to toggle down to VEHICLE or touch VEHICLE.
- Select or touch TPMS CALIBRATION.
- Then touch or press CALIBRATE. DONE!
The Warning light in the dashboard should be OFF.
OPTION 3
- With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine.Â
- Via your instrument cluster, you can see which tire has low air pressure.
- Fill the tire to the recommended PSI air level.
The warning light should go OFF.Â
OPTION 4
- With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine.Â
- Via your digital screen touch or press SETTINGS.
- Select or touch TPMS CALIBRATION.
- Select or touch INITIALIZE.
- Select or touch YES. DONE!
It appears there is not a TPMS reset in my 2008 Honda Pilot. Would it be worthwhile to change the TPMS fuse? Am I looking in the wrong place for the TPMS reset?
Did you ever find an answer to this? I also have a 2008 Honda pilot with the light on.
It’s seems there are several models including the 2018 pilot that doesn’t have a tpms reset button or configuration. Unless I’m missing something?
