Honda Pilot: Open The Fuel Door

Learn how to Open the Fuel Door on the Honda Pilot for models with Fuel Caps and models without Fuel Caps by following the short, uncomplicated steps below.

2017 – 2023 Models

 

  1. Located on the DRIVER’s door, Press IN the FUEL DOOR RELEASE button.
  2. Exit the vehicle and remove the Fuel Cap, then add your fuel.

2009 – 2016 Models

  1. Pull on the fuel door lever on the lower left side of the dashboard.
  2. Walk back to the fuel door.
  3. Pull the fuel door open.
  4. To close the fuel door, push the door closed until it is even with the rest of the car.

2003 – 2008 Models

  1. Pull on the fuel door lever on the left side of the driver’s seat.
  2. Walk back to the fuel door.
  3. Pull the fuel door open.
  4. To close the fuel door, push the door closed until it is even with the rest of the car.

If You Need To Use A Fuel Container

  1. Located on the DRIVER’s door Press IN the FUEL DOOR RELEASE button (Look above at the first image).
  2. Go to the trunk and located on the DRIVER’s side, immediately to the LEFT, directly under the power outlet, you will find a removable door that hides the FUEL FUNNEL.

  3. Pull the door until it pops out. A FUEL FUNNEL will be inside.     
  4. Put the FUNNEL in the fuel tank and add your fuel from the fuel container.

**NOTE: If you are unable to open the fuel door, you will need to contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.
