GMC Yukon: How to Open the Hood

While owning a vehicle, there will be occasions when you need to open the hood. Here are the details on how to open the hood of a GMC Yukon.

2015 – 2022 Models

1. Open the door of your vehicle.
2. Pull the lever under the steering wheel until it clicks. The lever will have a picture of a car with an open hood.
3. Walk around to the front of the vehicle.
4. Slide your hand under the hood, palm down at the center of the hood.
5. Find the secondary lever and push it over to the right. This opens the hood.
6. Lift the hood completely open. It will stay up on its own.

1992 – 2014 Models

1. Open the door of your vehicle.
2. Pull the lever next to the driver’s side door until it clicks. The lever will have a picture of a car with an open hood.
3. Walk around to the front of the vehicle.
4. Slide your hand under the hood, palm down at the center of the hood.
5. Find the secondary lever and push it over to the right. This opens the hood.
6. Lift the hood completely open. It will stay up on its own.
