I recently rented a Kia Forte and could not figure out how to fold the rear seats down. I searched around for a lever or button to no avail. I began to wonder if folding the seats was possible at all. Fortunately, I discovered a way to do this from the trunk of the vehicle.
2021 – 2023 Models
- With the trunk open; pull the left and right levers separately, found on the upper-left and right sides of the trunk.
- Open the back seat doors and push the seat forward.
That’s all there is to it! You have successfully folded the rear seats down on the Kia Forte.
** If the seat does not push down immediately, repeat the steps until the seats are down. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.
2010 – 2019 Models
- Adjust the front seats to an upright position.
- You may also need to push the front seats forward if additional room is required.
- Lower the rear seat headrests down to their lowest positions.
- Open the trunk of the car.
- Pull on the seatback locking knobs situated on the upper side of the trunk, on either side of the car’s trunk.
- Fold the rear seats by pushing them forward.
- To use the rear seats again, adjust the seat belt position first, then lift and pull on the rear seats until they snap back into place. Confirm that the seats are properly secured.
