Ford Police Interceptor: How to Open the Hood

If you need to access the engine, you’ll need to know how to open the hood. Follow the steps below to open the hood of a Ford Police Interceptor.

1992 – 2023 Models

1. Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is turned off.
2. Locate the hood release lever on the driver’s side footwell area.
3. Pull the hood release lever to release the hood latch.
4. Go to the front of the vehicle and locate the hood latch under the hood.
5. Lift the hood latch lever and raise the hood. You may need to press down on the hood to release the secondary latch.
6. Secure the hood with the prop rod, which is usually located on the underside of the hood.
