2021-2023 Models
- While inside the vehicle, locate the hood release lever on the driver’s side, right next to the driver’s side door.
- Pull the bar forward to pop the hood.
- Exit the vehicle, and feel around under the hood for the secondary lever. It is located to the left and is usually a bright color. Pull the lever and lift the hood.
- Secure the hood open with the bar.
2013 – 2020
- Open the driver’s side door.
- Locate the hood release lever on the driver’s left-hand side near the floor. You can easily identify the lever by the image of a car with an open hood printed on the front.
- Pull the hood release lever.
- Walk to the front of the car, placing yourself to the right of the Ford emblem.
- Locate a small opening between the hood and the body of the car.
- Slide your hand into this gap with your palm facing down.
- Feel for the safety catch.
- Slide the safety catch left.
- Raise the hood.
- Locate the hood prop directly behind the safety latch.
- Insert the hood prop into the underside of the hood to safely support the hood.

- Insert the hood prop into the underside of the hood to safely support the hood.
